Lucky, a 12-year-old pit bull, is anything but...the elderly dog was left at the Los Angeles County Animal Care and Control facility in Baldwin Park, Calif., by his owner on January 29.
Lucky's body shows the toll that time has taken...his eyes are cloudy, his spine shows, and he moves like a senior.
This betrayed elder bull is in grave danger at the facility - potential adopters typically do not seek out a dog who is near the end of their life - they tend to be drawn to the puppies or young adults - the dogs who still have a spring in their step.
Lucky did not choose to be in this lonely kennel run, surrounded by strangers, but he is relying on the kindness of strangers to help him leave.
