Lucky Collector Pulls Golden Ticket To Meet Kobe Bryant

The best "card" out of 2010-11 Panini Gold Standard Basketball has been pulled, and it isn't even a card.  It's more a Willy Wonka-esque ticket that granted the lucky winner a meeting with the Black Mamba himself, Kobe Bryant.  Nick Gauder of Ohio was the collector who unearthed the ticket and is now sitting on potentially a $20,000 - which is what another collector offered him for the card - gold mine.

According to Gauder, he has no intention of selling the ticket.  To him, having his family meet Kobe is a rare opportunity that doesn't come along everyday.  He clearly doesn't live in Los Angeles.

Then again, we shouldn't feel that bad for Gauder because in another previous box of Gold Standard, he pulled the redemption for 24 karat gold card of Steve Nash.  He sold that for $1,148.

It's official now, world.  There is absolutely no more reason to keep buying Gold Standard.  The elusive Golden Ticket has been pulled. Now if hobby stores can drop the price of boxes to maybe half of what it is now, that would be great.
