Just a couple of weeks ago, there were season previews for ABC's new show, Lucky 7." Two episodes into the first season and "Lucky 7" has been canceled. CSMonitor reported on Oct. 5, 2013, that "Lucky 7" not only got canceled after just two episodes, but it had the worst ABC TV debut in history.
"Lucky 7" has the rare distinction of being one of the few shows that has ever been canceled before it even got to its third week. ABC has officially pulled it from the line-up and replaced its time slot with reruns of "Scandal" until a permanent replacement can be found.
ABC realized that the ratings for "Lucky 7" were so bad that it was better to get rid of it instead of giving it any more chances.
The series premiered with a 1.3 rating for adults between 18-49 - its target demographic - and 4.4 million viewers. The second episode saw even lower numbers as it had a mere 2.6 million viewers and brought about a .07 rating which amounts to a 45 percent drop.
"Lucky 7" was lucky enough to be the lowest rated ABC drama in years and the lowest for all four major networks this week.
Most of ABC's Tuesday line-up lost viewers and saw ratings drop, but "Lucky 7" was the bottom rung and was canceled.
