Luck of the Irish 2013 (Photos)

Today is the big day for Irish folks in Plano. It's St. Patrick's Day! This week, we caught up with an Irish concert band the Dallas Slow Sessions, which were practicing in Plano at the Allen Wickers Pub. They let us sit and listen in on what they would be playing for their local engagements today. They practice every other Sunday, and if you are interested in joining this Traditional Irish band, contact Jim on the web at www.dallasslowsessions.com.

The Allen Wickers Pub will also have drink specials which include $4 Guiness & Killians. They will be celebrating today. The Allen Wicker's Pub is located off of 75, just north of Park, or south of Parker in Plano, TX.

We also stopped off at the Ice House off of Preston and 121. Today they will have of course, Green Beer at $3 a pint, Guinness at $4.50 a pint, Irish Car bombs at $5, Shepherds Pie or Guinness Stew at $7.50 each and a live band between 9pm and 1am on St.Patrick's Day, March 17th. There is no cover charge. They also have their usual regular priced food and drink, including $2.75 domestic bottles and $3.50 well liquors. This examiner recommends their Bloody Mary's. They were exceptional.

Some of Icehouse 121's healthier fare includes their Organic North Atlantic Cod, their Fish Tacos, or try their grilled chicken salad. All of these dishes have the option to grill or fry the meat, so the option of health is yours. Icehouse 121 is located in the shopping center off of Preston, next to Pei Wei, just south east of 121.

If you are more in the mood for an Irish jig, check out the Rugby House Pub, which is right around the corner from Icehouse 121. Just north in the Chick-fil-a shopping center off of 121 and Preston, Rugby House Pub is tucked neatly away in the center of the shopping plaza.

Today, they will be celebrating, along with having a fantastic specialty Irish menu. The Only items they will be serving today are the Burgers and mash, their Shepherds Pie, the Fish & Chips, the Corn Beef & Cabbage, and their Irish Reuben.

They will be having drink specials as well. Check out their green beer for $3, $5 car bombs, $5 Guiness, $4 Jameson.

So whether you are just wanting to celebrate with your friends, or if you are up for a jig, there is something for everyone to do today in Plano.
