The planet ruling money, luck and increases of all types goes direct on January 30, at 3:30 a.m. EST. Situations, projects, money, and sometimes even relationships of all types may start to move forward now.
Jupiter has been retrograde since October 4, 2012. Each year the largest planet in our solar system retrogrades for about 4 months. During this time growth can occur in an inner or more spiritual level.
The period a planet turns stationary direct is generally a very significant time, and this will be the most precipitous time for implementing long term plans and goals. The first week or two is especially important, and Jupiter is in a stationary retrograde period until it begins to move forward on February 20. The areas of your life that will be affected however, depend on where Jupiter is aspecting your chart. Use the chart below based on your ascendant if you know what it is. Otherwise, you can use your Sun sign.
Aries-third house of communications, travel, brothers sisters and co-workers, ideas and the mind are favored.
Taurus-second house of money and earned income.
Gemini-first house of the self and new beginnings.
Cancer-twelfth house of the subconscious mind, and imagination, alone time can work well.
Leo-eleventh house of friends, groups of all types and implementing hopes and wishes.
Virgo-tenth house of career, priorities and personal reputation.
Libra-ninth house of education and learning, legal matters and travel.
Scorpio-eighth house ruling sex, and other people’s money-transformations of all types.
Sagittarius-seventh house of partners and partnerships, courts.
Capricorn-sixth house of work and health.
Aquarius-fifth house of children, creativity, friends and love affairs.
Pisces-fourth house of the home and basic foundation.
Jupiter is called the greater benefic. In positive aspect he can bring luck and well-being. In bad aspect overconfidence and foolish actions. Jupiter in Gemini affects our potential for intellectual, spiritual and cultural growth and of course financial growth and increase. Jupiter in Gemini is considered to be in its detriment, as it is opposite the sign of its rulership-Sagittarius. Basically, this means Jupiter is weaker in this sign than in other placements. The last time Jupiter was in Gemini was summer of 2000-2001. While in Gemini Jupiter is concerned with issues of learning and knowledge, and is interested in experiencing all it can. An example of this is Oprah Winfrey who was born with Jupiter in Gemini in her sixth house of work.
On June 27, Jupiter will enter Cancer for the next year where it is considered exalted, meaning its placement here is ideal.
As Jupiter begins to move forward, it is sextile Uranus, bringing unexpected opportunities for some if it is well aspected in your chart, especially Gemini, Aries and Libra.
As it also squares Neptune we can expect wet weather conditions, fog and water related situations to occur. Jupiter-Neptune situations relate to disappointment, daydreaming, fraud, delusional attitudes, secrets and secret relationships that can be revealed, careless spending, and situations or relationships that can dissolve. Investments can go South, so be careful. It is positive for creativity and spiritual pursuits. Mutable signs should especially be aware of this influence: Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces. This period will last until Jupiter begins to move forward late February-March.
