Lucasfilm debuts new Star Wars Rebels clips at SDCC

Fans have been eagerly awaiting the debut for the new series Star Wars: Rebels. While there is still a bit of time to wait until the series finally hits TV in October, Lucasfilm is in full promotion mode currently at San Diego Comic Con. During the recent “The Heroes of Star Wars Rebels’ panel Dave Filoni (Executive Producer), Simon Kinberg (Executive Producer), Freddie Prinze Jr. (“Kanan”), Vanessa Marshall (“Hera”), Taylor Gray (“Ezra”), Steve Blum (“Zeb”) and Tiya Sircar (“Sabine”) were in attendance to showcase new clips.

While they have already debuted a few videos including a trailer, they brought a bit more to wet the fans appetite with and extended look trailer that really takes you into the action and overall feel of the series. The second clip showcases the already popular Inquisitor taking on Kanan showcasing his awesome new lightsaber followed up with a more lighthearted action sequence involving a Tie Fighter and roof chase that is a lot of fun to watch.

In case you have not been spending time in the galaxy far, far away, the new series follows the clever and motley crew of the starship Ghost who is amongst a select few who are brave enough to stand against the Empire. Together, this ragtag group will face threatening new villains, encounter colorful adversaries, embark on thrilling adventures and become heroes with the power to ignite a rebellion.

While it doesn’t look like fans will be getting much in regards to the currently in production Episode VII, this is sure to only be a small piece of what will sure to be revealed of Star Wars Rebels with San Diego Comic Con in full swing.
