High Point Raceway in Mt. Morris, PA will host the only Pennsylvania round of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship this Saturday June 14, 2014. This track always provides a pivotal point in this championship. It could be because of the deep loamy soil and technical off camber corners this high speed track possess. It could be because the riders are settled in to the motocross season by round four and the soft moist soil of western Pennsylvania in late spring bring out the best of the best. Or maybe it's just a coincidence that High Point Raceway is a pivotal stop on this tour. But whatever it is this is a race that the fans and racers alike look forward to every June.

If you've been following the series the last three weeks you know that the rookie Ken Roczen is on a roll and coming off an overall victory from last Saturday in Colorado and is the current 450 Class points leader. And you are aware that the 250 Class has been dominated by the Star Racing Yamaha team with the first 5 motos of the year going to their star rider Jeremy Martin. His only loss so far this year was the second moto in Colorado were he still finished 6th after a bad start and a late moto crash. Jeremy Martin heads to Mt. Morris with a 26 point lead over his teammate Copper Webb and is 47 points ahead of Christophe Pourcel who sits in 3rd and is also racing a YZ250F, only he is on the Valli Motosports Yamaha team. However both teams are Yamaha Factory supported so all 3 of these riders are racing the best bike Yamaha has to offer which caught the other factory teams a little of guard thus far. But all the teams will be ready this Saturday which will make for some close exciting races.

The question some Pennsylvania fans will be waiting to have answered, other than who is going to win, is how there favorite local rider will finish. Especially when some of the local riders including Dylan Slusser will be participating in Thursday's Press day. This is a day set aside for some of the top and local riders to hit the track for the lenses of national and local media as well as some interview time also. And it never hurts to use this time as a little extra practice on the track you'll be racing a few days later. So will this help a rider like Dylan Slusser have an advantage over some of the other local talent that will be racing this pristine track Saturday? Well you have to attend live and in person because the TV coverage will not highlight the battles of your local favorites and checking the results after the race doesn't tell the true story. And there are so many stories at the Nationals especially when they roll into the High Point National in Mt. Morris, PA.
