Lt. Dan, the upstate kitten who needed a life-saving amputation, had his leg removed today.

The Community Pet Project reported February 4 that Lt. Dan had his surgery earlier today, and is doing well. He still has a way to go before being he can continue life as a normal cat, and still needs your prayers.

If you would like to donate toward his care, a YouCaring fundraiser has been set up here. To pay directly to the vet, the contact information is listed below.

Several articles have been done about this amazing little guy, and can be found after this article under "suggested by the author."

Please share the story of this special cat, and how the cat-loving Facebook community joined together to ensure Lt. Dan received the care he needed. Together we can overcome the odds and safe the cats and dogs in our community-one pet at a time.
