LSU had several questionable injuries after the win over Florida this past weekend, but according to a report by The Advocate on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 the Tigers will be more than ready to play the Ole Miss Rebels this week.
The LSU football team had two injuries after the 17-6 victory over Florida on Saturday, October 12, 2013 that left fans concerned, since one of the injuries was to the starting quarterback, Zach Mettenberger. However, it looks like the Tigers have bounced back quickly.
Jordan Allen came off the field in the 4th quarter with an injured ankle Saturday with assistance. Head coach Les Miles reports that Allen's ankle injury was not a bad one and that he should be ready to play football on Saturday.
Zach Mettenberger played the entire game against Florida, but was limping before the end of the 4th quarter. Mettenberger spoke to the press on Monday afternoon after practice and was asked about his injury. Mettenberger revealed he had a "deep shin bruise," a result of a hit from the Gator's Antonio Morrison during the 4th quarter.
Mettenberger was pleased with the way his offensive line stepped up to protect him during the game against the Florida Gators. This was the first game of the season for the Tigers where he hasn't been sacked.
Ronald Martin, a free safety for the Tigers did not play in the game against Florida but will be ready to play for the game against the Ole Miss Rebels this week according to head coach Les Miles.
The Tigers moved up to No. 6 in the AP poll this week and will face the Ole Miss Rebels on Saturday, October 19, 2013 in Vaught-Hemmingway Stadium in Oxford, Ms. at 6:00 p.m. CST. The game will be broadcast on ESPN2.
