LSU men's tennis team ranked No. 24 in preseason poll

The LSU men's tennis team is ranked No. 24 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) in the preseason rankings released Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014.

Several individual team members on the LSU men's tennis team ranked in the top 100 of the individual rankings for the southern region. The team also placed in the top 100 in doubles.

Chris Simpson, a junior, ranked No. 72 in singles and No. 6 for the south. Andrew Korinek, a sophomore is ranked No. 20 in the south in singles.

Tam Trinh, sophomore, and Eric Perez, a redshirt freshman have been ranked No. 46 nationally in doubles and No. 3 in the south. Teammates Chris Simpson and Boris Arias, sophomore, are ranked No. 60 and No. 7, for national and south, respectively.

The LSU men's tennis team has four letter winners returning from last year's team to lead the Tigers in 2014. They are Boris Arias, Harrison Kennedy, and Tam Trinh, sophomores and Chris Simpson, a junior.

The Tigers will be taking part in this year's Key Biscayne Collegiate Invitational in Key Biscayne, Fl. on January 5, 2014. The LSU men's tennis team will open dual play for the season on January 19, 2014 in Houston, Tx. when they face Rice University at noon.
