The LSU gymnastics team landed in the No. 8 position in the latest national rankings released by GymInfo on Monday (Feb. 4), with an average score of 196.290 for the season.
The Tigers also rank in the Top 20 on all four individual events. The Tigers are ranked No. 2 on vault, No. 4 on the floor exercise, No. 11 on the balance beam, and No. 16 on the uneven bars.
Individual members of the gymnastic team are also nationally ranked. Rheagan Courville is ranked No. 18 in the all around with a season average of 39.270, No. 16 on floor, and No. 20 on the balance beam.
Kaleigh Dickson ranks No. 25 in the all around with a 39.213 average and No. 13 on bars. Sarie Morrison ranks No. 6 on bars and No. 12 on vault. Randi Lau ranks No. 7 on the vault.
Taking top spots in the national rankings are:
1. Florida with 197.135
2. Oklahoma with 197.025
3. Michigan with 196.855
4. UCLA with 196.719
5. Alabama with 196.638
The Tigers have a solid start to the season by hitting road meets early in the season and working out kinks in routines to post solid scores early in the season and on the road.
The Tigers will be on the road once again this week with a meet against Missouri on Friday, Feb. 8, 2013.
