The LSU Tigers gymnastics team not only won the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional today (April 5, 2014), but did it in style setting a season high score and school record of 198.325.
Stanford University picked up the second place finish with a final score of 197.275, followed by Iowa State University with 196.350. Kent State University took fourth with a score of 195.125; Auburn fifth with 195.050; and Arizona with 194.825.
The Tigers remained focused at the job on hand today and their efforts paid off. The team's scores on the individual rotations were 49.650 on vault, 49.425 on bars, 49.600 on the balance beam, and 49.650 on the floor exercise.
Llmonica Hall scored a perfect 10.0 on the floor exercise, the only gymnast to hit a perfect routine in today's competition.
The Tigers took the top spots on each event except for the uneven bars which went to Stanford University for the top two spots. Sarie Morrison, Kaleigh Dickson, and Randii Wyrick tied for third place. Jessie Jordan took seventh place and Reaghan Courville and Britney Ranzy tied for eighth place.
On the vault the Rheagan Courville, Ashleigh Gnat and Sarie Morrison tied for first place, with Jessie Jordan and Britney Ranzy tying for fifth place.
The Tigers did well on the balance beam, with Rheagan Courville placing first, Ashleigh Gnat placing second, Jessie Jordan and Sydney Ewing tying for seventh, and Kaleigh Dickson tying for eleventh place.
Llomonica hall took possession of the floor exercise with a crowd pleasing performance that earned her a perfect 10 score. Rheagan Courville took second place of the floor, followed by Jessie Jordan and Jessica Savona tying for third.
LSU and Stanford will now advance to the Super Six Championships that will be held in Birmingham, Alabama on April 18-20.
