The No. 8th ranked LSU gymnastics team defeated No. 3 Florida Gators 196.875-196.575, in a meet that went down to the final performance for each team as reported by LSU Sports. Attendance for the LSU-Florida meet was over 4,000 for a home performance at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center at LSU in Baton Rouge, La.
Fans were showing their Tiger Pride as the final performer, Lloimincia Hall, gave an outstanding performance on the floor exercise for a 9.95 score. The performance gave Hall a 1st place win on the floor and secured the win for the LSU Tigers.
The Gators' final competitor was Marissa King on the balance beam. King couldn't hold on and slipped off the beam forcing Florida to count a fall. This gave the Tigers the edge for the rotation and their first win against an SEC opponent for the season.
The meet was a nail biting experience for Tiger fans, as the Tigers led after the first rotation on the vault, and fell slightly behind on the second and third rotations on the bars and balance beam. It all came down to the last rotation, with the Tigers on the floor and the Gators on the balance beam. The Tigers gave outstanding performances on the floor with scores ranging from 9.25 to Hall's 9.95.
The all-around title went to Florida's Kytra Hunter with a score of 39.675, followed by LSU's Lloimincia Hall and Rheagan Courville, with scores of 39.450 and 39.425, respectively.

Bars: t1) Sarie Morrison, 9.90 (LSU) and Kyrat Hunter, 9.90 (FL) t5) Rheagan Courville, 9.825, Lloimincia Hall, 9.825, Jessie Jordan, 9.825, McKenzie Fox, 9.825 and Randii Wyrick, 9.825, all from LSU.
Beam: 1) Mackenzie Caquatto, 9.95 (FL), 3) Lloimincia Hall, 9.875 (LSU)
Floor: 1) Lloimincia Hall, 9.95 (LSU), 3) Rheagan Courville, 9.90
The Tigers are off to an excellent start to the season and will travel to Tuscaloosa, AL to face the No. 1 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide on Friday, January 18, 2013.
