The LSU Tigers managed to stay in the top 10, but just barely as they drop down to No. 10 in the AP poll after a 44-41 loss to Georgia on Saturday afternoon as reported by NOLA on Sunday, September 29, 2013.
The Tigers previously held the No. 6 spot in the AP poll which is now occupied by Georgia, who was ranked No. 9 last week. The Tigers dropped to No. 11 in the USA Today coaches poll this week.
The game played in Sanford Stadium and broadcast on CBS was one that kept fans on both teams on edge as the game and score changed almost every drive of the game. The Bulldogs were first to points on the scoreboard and that pretty much set the tone for the game with the Tigers trying to catch up for the rest of the game.
Saturday's game set an LSU record for the sixth highest total points scored (85) by both SEC teams since 1933 and ninth overall. If this is what the season is going to be like, Tiger fans will be highly entertained.
The LSU Tigers will face Mississippi State this Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. Central Standard time. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.
