The No. 6 LSU Tigers didn't have any trouble beating South Alabama on Wednesday night, (Mar. 19) as they recorded their 8th straight shutout with a 9-0 win at Alex Box Stadium.

The sixth inning proved to be the highlight of the game for the Tigers as they brought in seven runs to bump the score up to 9-0 over South Alabama.

The Tigers got on the scoreboard first in the fourth inning as Kade Scivicque, catcher, hit his second home run of the season.

Conner Hale scored in the bottom of the fifth with a sacrifice fly ball by Jake Fraley, adding another run and moving score up to 2-0.

The Tigers had seven runs in the sixth inning, with Mark Laird starting the 6th inning streak by scoring with a single by Kade Scivicque. Andrew Stevenson's single to left centerfield allowed Bregman to score, leaving the bases loaded.

South Alabama made a pitching change at this time bringing in James Traylor. Jared Foster comes to bat for the Tigers at a pinch hitter and delivers a three run double down the left field line. Foster then scores as Sean McMullen hits an RBI double to left field.

With two outs, Chris Sciambra comes to plate as a pinch hitter, and reaches first by a fielding error on the pitcher, which also allows McMullen to score.

Henri Faucheux, Jr. left handed pitcher for the Tigers earned his first win of the season.

The Tigers will host Georgia this weekend for the first SEC home series of the season. The game will be carried on Cox Sports Television and on the LSU Sports Network, 98.1, on the radio. First pitch is set for 7:00 p.m.
