Natalie Gulbis, who won new fans and stole the hearts of more than a few Boston golfers during her appearance at The International in 2011, is not the only LPGA fan favorite planning her nuptials. The popular Paula Creamer announced Monday via Twitter that she’s engaged as well and posted a photo of the groom-to-be.
“What an amazing day yesterday!!” @ThePCreamer tweeted. “#goingtomarrythemanofmydreams #iamengaged”
Gulbis, who took herself off the dating market during the summer, told Golfweek’s Beth Ann Baldry back in July that before 2013 ended she would make it official with former Yale QB Josh Rodarmel.
“This is my 12th year on tour,” Gulbis, the winner of the 2007 Evian Masters, said then. “I’m 30 and I’m the happiest I’ve ever been.”
While details remained scant about Creamer’s main squeeze, Gulbis has said previously that she met Rodarmel a few years ago, thanks to her association with Power Balance, a “performance wristband” company her fiancé co-founded with his brother. Rodarmel’s former company, whose products golfers Keegan Bradley and Stacy Lewis endorsed, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2011 and reemerged as Power Balance Technologies Inc.
Might a New Year’s Eve wedding at Pebble Beach be in the offing for Gulbis, who in the past has dated Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and eight-time PGA Tour winner Dustin Johnson? It would hardly be a surprise, given her love of the fabled golf venue.
No word yet on when, or where, Creamer, the 2010 U.S. Women’s Open champion, plans to take the plunge.
