In celebration of "School Choice Week", Kevin Kelly from Philly's Loyal Opposition and Jennifer Stefano from Americans for Prosperity Pennsylvania will be holding a free event on January 27th from 7-9 a.m. at the German Society of Pennsylvania. That's at 611 Spring Garden Street in Philadelphia.

The event is free, a free breakfast will be provided and there will also be free parking. The two groups are teaming up to screen the documentary "The Cartel" about New Jersey's corrupt and problematic public school system and there will also be two very interesting people speaking. State Senator Anthony "I hate the 2nd Amendment but I love school choice" Williams - a former Democrat gubernatorial candidate - will be speaking along with Simon Campbell of stopteacherstrikes.org.

Our friend, Kevin Kelly is hosting the event, so you know it will be a good time! Our speakers are State Senator Anthony Williams and Simon Campbell of www.stopteacherstrikes.org.   This is going to be a dynamic event to celebrate the idea of bringing free market competition to education so our students can escape the endless system of government dominated failure.

We are expecting press that day and are happy to highlight you if you're in attendance.  I can provide talking points on school choice for you as well provide you some video clips.  I was amazed at what is going on...and how we really could effect change in this area!

 This is a grassroots issue and the media needs to see the grassroots is ALIVE AND WELL...and fighting still on all fronts!

Our event is Thursday, January 27, 2011 at 7am-9am (please note this is a morning event). A light breakfast will be served.  It is being held at the German Society of Pennsylvania, 611 Spring Garden Street in Philadelphia.

School Choice for Parent Event in Harrisburg.  It's Tuesday, January 25th at 10am North Capitol Building, Harrisburg, Room Number 2.  There will be a panel discussion with Dr. Alberta Wilson from Faith First Educational Assistance Corporation, Senator Anthony Williams (co-sponsor of SB1, The Scholarship Act) and Senator Jeff Piccola (Chair of Senate Education Committee and Sponsor of SB1)The panel will discuss the "opportunity scholarship" plan (SB1) and a rally in the afternoon.

We feel this will be an interesting event. The Philadelphia Libertarian Examiner supports school choice, most likely for different reasons than most. We feel the public school system is an absolute failure and opening up the problems to more school districts will be a quicker nail-in-the-coffin to the crooked system. School choice will expose the public school system for the cartel that it truly is.

Anyone who is passionate about public schools and the option of school choice should definitely attend this free event.
