A loyal dog prevented the suicide of his owner in France when he managed to knock the gun from her hands before she made a fatal a shot, The Hollywood Gossip reports March 7. The 63-year-old woman reportedly fired several test shots from the .22 caliber rifle before turning the gun on herself and attempting to shoot herself in the heart.
"As she pulled the trigger, her dog jumped on her and diverted the shot. [The dog] likely sensed things and knocked into her to save her," local police said.
The German Shepherd was able to prevent the woman's suicide by moving her direction of aim. His owner pointed the gun to her heart, but when the loyal dog jumped on her the gun fired a shot that caused only a superficial wound to her chest.
The woman was found by her husband in their garden and he rushed her to the hospital. She's expected to make a full recovery. Will she see life differently after her dog made sure she wouldn't kill herself?
