Car, truck and motorcycle enthusiasts continue to travel to the popular Lowes Cruise Night to enjoy an evening admiring, and sometimes drooling, over the classic, antique, roadster and hot rods. Recently as many as 250 cars and trucks joined the event at the Abingdon, Maryland Lowes. The weekly event includes a DJ, food trucks, and other vendors. Over the summer the event attracted as many as 400 cars in one evening.
Recent highlights, typical of an evening at the cruise included twenty Ford Falcons arriving from the Mason Dixon chapter of the Falcon Club of America; a very attractive Mclaren high performance British sports car; a 1991 Ford Mustang Georgia State Police car, complete with working lights and sirens; and a host of muscle cars to include Cameros, Malibus, Chevelles, Mustangs, and Chargers. Custom Harley's and the Suzuki Hayabusa along with other motorcycles, trucks, jeeps and custom specialty vehicles make the cruise night one of adventure and discovery.
Music is provided by "Movies and Music by Tom" which sometimes include a large outdoor screen showing movies that feature classic and hot rods.
