Fast food work has never been easy. There are demanding customers and bosses. Kitchens are hot and the pace is always fast.

So now many fast workers want an increase in minimum wage pay.

"I think we deserve more money for what we do day in and day out. Serving hamburgers and fries is not easy. And I think we should get more money," said Pedro Ortiz, who works in a fast food restaurant.

"Fast food companies depend on low paid workers to make money. I don't think that is right. We should earn more money," said Stephanie Coots, who works in a fast food restaurant.

"These restaurants could pay people more money, but then they would have to raise their prices and many young people would not get that first job," said Andrew Walsh.
