Frequent fliers at Detroit Metro Airport are amazed at the speed with which some are able to clear airport screening. When the Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) screeners wave you to the left you know your be able to keep your shoes and belts on as you proceed through the low-impact lanes.
Yesterday the TSA announced an expansion of the program to 28 new airports, which has only been available in Atlanta, Dallas, Detroit, Miami, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Minneapolis-St. Paul.
Frequent business travelers find this program to be a time-saver and businesses with large numbers of travelers should consider enrolling them in the program. A company cannot sign up all employees as it is an individual participatory program.
Information about the program is at the TSA website.
TSA announced the addition of low-impact screening at these airports by the end of 2012. All are served from Detroit by Delta non-stop flights except San Juan, which is seasonally offered as non-stops from Detroit.
