South Carolina paper money was a big part of the Low Country Coin Club’s recent Summer Show 2013 in Ladson, SC, at the Exchange Park on August 2-4, 2013. Not everyone knows that the show includes paper money, or currency.
One of their members, Harry Scarborough, and his neighbor at the show had a fabulous collection of very beautiful Charleston, SC paper money. The meetings of the Low Country Coin Club are open to the public and anyone can learn about their meetings and activities by going to their website: www.lowcountrycoinclub.com. They are always looking for new members.
Many people are investing in both antique paper money and gold and silver coins with the right dates and markings partly because of the changing international banking and economic situations. Fortunately, books on these topics can always be found at their shows for people wanting to learn more. Randy Clark and Tony Dantzler are two of the driving forces behind the shows.
Framed antique SC currency is a must for collectors of local South Carolina history. It is also a conversation piece that adds interest to any room. Harry Scarborough and the person who had an exhibit next to his can be reached at the Low Country Coin Club from their website or their meetings. They should have another coin and currency show in February, 2014.
