The winter weather here in Bakersfield is unpredictable, please remember to bring you dogs and cats indoors if the temperatures are dropping. If you would be cold out there, so will your animals!
There are plenty of adoption opportunities this weekend with our local rescues, The Cat People and H.A.L.T. Rescue. Don't forget to check out Marley's Mutts in Tehachapi, if you are not finding that special dog you are looking for - they have rescued many from Bakersfield's Kern Animal Control shelter on S. Mt. Vernon, and have worked with some of the nicest dogs to be found (though you might not have seen the "diamond in the rough" when they were at the shelter).
There is also another low-cost rabies vaccination and licensing clinic this weekend, sponsored by the Kern County Animal Control folks. A great bargain, and a great way to insure your dogs remain healthy and get their license!
