Sharon Stone said her anti-aging beauty secrets include regular exercise and a low-carb diet modeled after the popular low glycemic-index diet.

Stone, who exercises regularly, told E! Jane Fonda is her workout inspiration. Whenever she doesn't feel like working out, Sharon said she remembers a quote Fonda cited in an interview 25 years ago: "If you're disciplined, you are free."

Fonda, who looks incredible at 76, has previously called exercise the fountain of youth. In addition to helping her look great (and years younger), Jane said daily workouts helped her overcome depression, bulimia, anorexia, three divorces, and breast cancer.

Low-Carb, Low-Glycemic Diet and Regular Exercise

Stone said she usually does underwater weight workouts at the pool. The blonde beauty also strength-trains, stretches, dances and does yoga. "I do what it takes," said Stone. "I go to the gym and I eat healthy."

Sharon maintains her sleek physique by following the low-carb GI Diet, which focuses on eating non-starchy foods with a low glycemic index. Sharon’s low-carb diet features plenty of red meat and vegetables, and very little sugar or simple carbs. Stone has followed the GI Diet for more than 10 years, and credits it for helping her recover from a brain aneurysm in 2001.

Sharon admits she hasn't worked out much this summer and is worried she'll be fat-shamed by tabloids over the cellulite on her butt. "I haven't worked out in a couple of months because I just didn't feel like it," she said.

But now I'm going on vacation and I know what they're going to do. [The tabloids] are going to put a circle around my *ss and do one of those crazy magnified pictures saying, 'What happened to her *ss? It's a bag of cheese.' I would just like to say it's a fine triple-crème brie!"

Denies Plastic Surgery: Wants to Age Gracefully

Whether she has cellulite or not, there's no denying Stone looks unbelievable. While she has always exuded a cool self-confidence, Sharon admits dealing with aging has been really rough.

"There was a point in my 40s when I went into the bathroom with a bottle of wine, locked the door, and said, ‘I’m not coming out until I can totally accept the way that I look right now,' " Sharon told Shape.

Stone gradually resolved to age gracefully rather than fight the process, and feels more at peace with herself. Stone, who said she has never had plastic surgery, said she hopes society will begin to expand its definition of beauty to include older women.

"This idea that being youthful is the only thing that’s beautiful or attractive simply isn’t true," she said. "I don’t want to be an ‘ageless beauty.’ I want to be a woman who is the best I can be at my age.”
