Loving someone doesn't always mean forever

Love is one of the most sought after emotions. We all want to experience it, whether we're willing to admit it or not. And one of the first steps in finding love is dating.
In order to find love, you have to actively seek it. You have to get out there, meet people and eventually begin to form a relationship with someone that leads pass friendship. However, one of the biggest misconceptions about love is that it means forever. Let me explain.
Just because you love someone and that person loves you back, it doesn't necessitate that you should be together or will stay together. Sometimes loving someone means you have to let them go.
A lot of people assume that when you're in love it means that you have to try everything in your power to make it work. But sometimes love isn't enough to hold a relationship together. You need more than love to sustain a healthy partnership with someone.
Just like your body needs more than just water to survive, the same goes for your relationship. Love shouldn't drain you. Love isn't abusive. Love is patient. Love is unconditional. Love doesn't always make sense. But at the end of the day loving someone doesn't always mean forever.
The only love that last forever is the love you have for yourself. You should never love another more than you love yourself. And though it may be hard and break your heart, sometimes letting go is the best thing for you and the other person involved.
But don't let a loss keep you from finding love. Leaving one love behind will just open the door for another to feel it's place. And that's how your glass goes from half empty to half full.
