The closing on the former Agilent Technologies campus in Loveland for the "ACE" project (Aerospace Clean Energy and Technology Park) took place on December 20, 2011. The city of Loveland sold the property to Kentucky-based developer Cumberland and Western (C&W) who will now rennovate the site and recruit businesses to lease the space. The new owners formed a subsidiary corporation called the Rocky Mountain Center for Innovation and Technology.
C&W has partnered with the city to promote the space to innovation and technology companies via a new website, http://rmcinnovate.com/ . The website offers details and photos of the 170-acre campus with 810,000 s.f. of building space available for lease to prospective business tenants. It also describes the economic and lifestyle benefits of living and working in the Loveland/Northern Colorado area.
Loveland Mayor Cecil Gutierrez recently expressed his enthusiasm for the economic growth the Center will bring to the Northern Colorado area saying, "For years to come, this property will bring jobs, productivity and economic benefit to Loveland. We welcome C&W’s revitalization of the property into a thriving technological center once again.”
In 2011, CNN Money Magazine placed Larimer County as the 12th best place for job opportunities out of 25 in the United States because of Nasa choosing Loveland for it's Innovation and Technology Park. Tourism was also mentioned as a big draw for the area: "The Rocky Mountain National Park draws an estimated 4 million nature lovers to the town of Estes Park each summer."
Stay tuned for future updates on what we will now refer to as the "RMC" in Loveland and it's impact on the local economy and real estate market.
