Lovejoy (Ian McShane) is not your ordinary antiques dealer. He is a con artist and he makes no qualms in taking a novice collectors money. Lovejoy has an eye for the collectible and he will do anything to make sure he is not taken advantage of. Now you wouldn't believe that being an antiques dealer could be such a dangerous job. Unfortunately, there are people who are of questionable character who try to steal or make a quick buck at the expense of others. This is where Lovejoy will step in to recover someone's property and get it back to them or if someone has stolen from him, he will do anything to get it back.

Lovejoy is a lovable person who can be as charming as he needs to be. There are times when he may have to use his charms to get what he wants and it's great to watch him in action. There are times when the bad guy can be a female and those charms do come in handy.

Lovejoy has the rich and beautiful Lady Jane (Phyllis Logan) as his confidant and his side kick Eric (Chris Jury) also helps to find the items in question.

Acorn is bringing to us this DVD package of series one It comes out July 1, 2014. The DVD will include ten episodes of the charming 'Lovejoy' and his assistants. The quality of the DVD is excellent. The sight and sounds are unquestionably par excellence.

This DVD is definitely one for your personal library. Ian McShane is a delight as Lovejoy. When this series first came out people wondered if the storyline would work but when all was said and done it stayed on the air for 8 years. This show is one of entertainment and detective work. So don't waste time. Go out and relive all the fun and enjoyment in the privacy of your own home.
