For Valentine's Day show love to your pets by having them spayed or neutered at Foothills Animal Shelter. The shelter is running specials for the month in honor of World Spay Day, February 25.

Having a pet spayed or neutered not only helps to control the stray and unwanted pet population, the procedure can lead to a healthier and longer life for your pet. According to the ASPCA, spay and neuter surgeries can prevent uterine infections and uterine and breast cancer in female pets and testicular cancer in males. Spay and neuter procedures can also curb unwanted behaviors such as marking, howling and roaming.

Foothills Animal Shelter is reducing the cost of spay and neuter surgery for the month of February. Discounted pricing for dogs is $60 and discounted pricing for cats is only $20. These prices only apply to surgeries performed at Foothills Animal Shelter so call 720-407-5215 to make an appointment in February today.

Foothills Animal Shelter takes in almost 8,500 orphaned pets every year. The shelter also works to education people about responsible pet ownership and the importance of spaying and neutering pets. Providing affordable options for spay and neuter is just one way the shelter helps the community. The shelter is located 580 McIntyre Street in Golden.
