Join the South Carolina Aquarium, in Charleston, for the Love Under the Sea Valentine’s Dinner on Tuesday, February 14, 2012. Sweethearts can enjoy the solitude of after-hours with a crowd-free stroll through the aquarium’s many exhibits before enjoying a three-course meal at a private table in front the Great Ocean Tank, the Carolina Seas or large windows overlooking historic Charleston Harbor.
The SC Aquarium opens at 6:15 p.m. and seating for the Love Under the Sea dinner begins at 7:00 p.m. Reservations start at $165.00 per couple. South Carolina Aquarium members receive a $10.00 discount.

The Love Under the Sea meal, prepared by Hamby Catering and Events, includes a mixed greens garden salad, a choice of entrees (grilled chicken breast with champagne sauce, marinated pork tenderloin with fruit chow chow or stuffed portabella mushroom), a choice of sides (herb roasted new potatoes or green beans almondine) and chocolate mousse with angel crisp and raspberry sauce. Drink choices include red or white wine, water or iced tea.

More than 60 exhibits represent the rich biodiversity of South Carolina aquatic animals from the mountains to the sea, including river otters, sharks and loggerhead turtles. Show some love to the South Carolina Aquarium’s animals this Valentine’s Day through the You Otter be my Valentine animal adoption program. Adoption funds go towards supporting education and conservation programs at the SC Aquarium.
For $50.00, adoptive parents will receive a personalized adoption certificate for a river otter, a plush river otter toy, two 4-D tickets, a fact sheet and an adoption decal. Adoptions can be purchased online at scaquarium.org or by calling (843) 579-8629. Place your order by Feb. 9 to ensure delivery for Valentine’s Day.
Charleston, SC is approximately 426 miles from Richmond, VA and about a seven hour drive. It’s a fairly straight shot down I-95 south to I-26 where you’ll head east to the beautiful coastal areas of Sullivan’s Island, Folly Beach and Charleston Harbor.
