Do you love to run or be active? Have you been looking to get involved with a cause but not sure which one? Look no further. Back on My feet- a highly successful non profit, which works to end the cycle of homelessness through empowerment is coming to Boston this May.
From their site:
Back on My Feet does not provide food nor does it provide shelter, but instead provides a community that embraces equality, respect, discipline, teamwork and leadership. There are no labels, no stigmas and no stereotypes. At Back on My Feet, all members - regardless of race, education or socioeconomic status - join together to move their own lives forward as well as the lives of their teammates.
Back on My Feet is looking for people to help in several ways:
Run a Race for Back on My Feet: You can FundRace for BOMF at absolutely any race you are running, just ask Maureen how! Additionally, we have a limited number of guaranteed entries to the Philadelphia, Chicago, New York City, Marine Corps or the National marathons. The quantity of race numbers available are moving quickly (less than a dozen left for some races!) so act fast to secure your number – click here! FundRacing is 25 percent of our revenue and a great way to help raise money specifically for the Boston Chapter.
Show Your Support in Style: Be among the first to run along the Charles in BOMF gear: www.backonmyfeet.org/merchandise.
Lace Up for Sneaker Day: To celebrate the Back on My Feet’s launch in Boston, we will be having Sneaker Day across the city! Participating companies in BOMF’s Sneaker Day allow their employees to wear Sneakers to work for $5 on Monday, May 24, 2010 and it’s our goal to get 50 companies involved in this campaign. More information will be on the website next week.
Pull Up a Chair for the BOMF Launch Breakfast: You are invited to come and celebrate our Boston launch at Back on My Feet’s Inaugural Breakfast in Your Sneakers! We will be selling tables to companies and organizations to sponsor this fun kickoff breakfast on May 24th at the Copley Marriott from 8 am to 9 am. For information on sponsoring a table, contact Shannon. Additionally, 100 individual tickets will be available for purchase, so be sure to get yours next week on our website.
