Love should always be in the air: Why just for one day?

With Valentine’s Day being only a day away, men are scrambling last minute to figure out how to celebrate the holiday with their love ones. The expectations of the female counterpart are only growing bigger and bigger. It is indeed a rat race out there. It is very fascinating how people wait until holidays like this one, to show love and devotion towards a loved one. Additionally, people are ignorant to the true reason for the holiday. How did it come to be about sending Valentines o your loved ones and increasing the sexual activity during this time as well? Where has this thrill originated from?

The day is dedicated to a Roman man from around 280 A.D., Valentine or Valentinus, who believed in the sanctity of a having a Christian marriage. What is a Christian Marriage, you ask? It is simple. The unity that Valentine promoted was with a man and woman, betrothed to one another for a lifetime of devotion and fidelity, with God as the foundation. Valentine was eventually brutally stoned and decapitated for promoting such blasphemous dogmas in those Post-Christ epochs. Interesting, you say? Well, it seems that when those who speak of truth and righteousness, they are casted out like a leper.

Theses societies of people did the same to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. They condemned Him, beat Him for hours until He was gushing blood and could barely stand up. As if that were not enough to satisfy the high priests, they crucified Jesus on a Cross. Jesus’s crucifixion was so iconic due to the minor, yet extreme detail that some people actually deny it as a reality. This detail involved the physically nailing of Jesus’s hands and feet to the Cross, instead of the typical roping of the limbs. He underwent excruciating pain, such pain that nobody from this era could even fathom or comprehend. This was the kind of treatment given to the murderers and thieves of the time. However, the punishment was even more so severe to our Lord and Savior due the lesson the high priests tried to teach to anyone else who dares to stand up for what it right.

The most striking occurrence of all is how Jesus did so much for His people. Jesus raised people from the dead, and healed the sick, blind and deaf. He was a friend to those who had none. Jesus gave food and shelter to the poor. He loved all people regardless, and above all He died for all our sins to be forgiven.

How did humanity repay Jesus for all He did? They butchered Him first and eliminated Him away, literally! And how is humanity repaying Jesus in today’s society, now? Through cohabitating, having pre-marital sex, bearing children out of wedlock, being unfaithful, cheating, stealing, lying, killing and society in America is continuing to condone it all. What a shame. People wonder why life in America is not that decent place for a secure future. They all whine when things do not go their way or when life gets a bit too tough to deal with. Woe to societies’ hypocrites and may God have mercy on mankind.
