”Love One Another!”(John 13:34-35)

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:34-35

Jesus taught believers to love each other. Jesus, the Son of God, is the product of love. God loved the world and sent Jesus. Jesus showed love by going to the cross and dying for sins. His love offers the forgiveness of sins and a right relationship with the Father. Furthermore, this great love commands a return of love to others.

Disciples of Christ Jesus should be showing love to one another. This love is carried out in word and deed. Words should be uplifting and comforting. They should also correct when needed. Actions should be of prayer, sharing material resources, and showing genuine care. These behaviors will inform unbelievers about Jesus and confirm the believer’s faith. Love should be a distinguishing mark for the believer in Christ Jesus.

Challenge: Believer, do others recognize you as a believer in Jesus by your love? They should. Jesus commands disciples to love others!
