Love on Holiday returns for its second year to Sturgeon Bay

The Holiday Music Motel located in Sturgeon Bay, Wis boasts many music events throughout the year. Situated in downtown Sturgeon Bay, the motel has a rich history dating back to the '50s. One of the many music events the Holiday has created is "Love on Holiday". Scheduled for February 10-16, 2013, this event promises some terrific original music for audiences.

Based upon the same concept as Steel Bridge Songfest, songwriters from near and far will converge on the motel for a week of writing and recording new material based upon a theme. The theme for this year's event is "Songs of love... and Love Gone Away". Some of the songwriters fans will see are: James Hall, Liv Mueller, Ruby James, pat mAcdonald, melaniejane, and Danielle French.

The artists will not only write new music, but they will also have an opportunity to give back. Spear-headed by Ruby James, a Steel Bridge regular, the musicians will travel to The Golden Center on Valentine's Day to perform music for people who would not otherwise be able to join the festivities. Community outreach continues as they will also join the Boy's and Girl's Club for their "Art for Health". This event brings the talents of musicians and children together in a creative opportunity. Over 100 children will paint while the musicians perform.

"Love on Holiday" would not be complete without live performances and the festival promises one on February 15, 2013 at the Red Room beginning at 9:00 p.m. New material as well as songs from last year will be performed. This concert is free and open to the public. Saturday evening also brings a performance; however, the Holiday Music Motel will announce this special TBA performance only on their Facebook page.
