Beautiful quote: "Let go of how you thought your life should be and embrace the life that is trying to work its way into your consciousness." ~Caroline Myss
As a collective group, we work, do chores, cross tasks off the eternal "to do" list, work in a little exercise, eat, go to bed and wake up to do it all over again. The news, regardless of what city, state, or country it is reported from is usually negative. We discuss with family or friends what is wrong with the world or our lives and typically end with no solution. We usually have a concept in our mind of how things should be; however, they never seem to manifest to the perceived expectations. The common words, "if only...", seem to justify the perceived injustices that reside in the mind.
Now, with that said...let's get to what life is really about. We are here on this planet to love, live and learn. Each person has their own set of challenges. The truth about challenges is that they are truly opportunities to grow. Unfortunately, a lot of people hold onto their past and drag it behind them like a very heavy piece of luggage. As the years go by, the luggage gets heavier and seems to disengage one from their ability to move forward with ease. Some even stop trying to move forward.
Here is a truth to understand and practice: The past is over. The future is uncertain; however, the present moment is real.
What you decide to make of it is your choice. Take responsibility for your existence. It is your life and irregardless of the actions or words of others, it is your decision to to hold on or let go of the perceived negative experiences. Once you transcend through a negative experience, you can look back and choose to grow from it or add it to your baggage list. It is easier to travel light...the same applies to life.
It is easier to love than to hate. It is better to live in the present than to dwell on the past or dread the future. it is enlightening to learn from experience rather than to cast blame. It truly is as simple as choosing to focus on what is good rather than what is bad. If money is tight, feel gratitude for the money you do have. If health is an issue, be grateful for simply being alive. If a relationship is going south and it is not meant to be, be grateful for what you learned or gleaned from it. Basically, take the time to focus on what is good rather than what is bad. By simply changing and re-wiring your mindset to focus on the positive aspect of anything, more positive will manifest because it will be what you choose to experience.
"What we are today comes from our thoughts of yesterday, and our present thoughts build our life tomorrow: Our life is the creation of the mind." ~Unknown
So, what am I saying? Live your life. We only have this moment now. Show and give love to yourself and others. It will "pay back" when the time is right...with interest. Learn from the past and make it your intention to keep on learning until the day you pass. You will realize that the more you learn, the less you know. But, that is okay. Why? Because there you will never run out of new things to learn or experience. Now, that is truly living and it is a true gift to be grateful for.
