Earlier today, anime publisher Sentai Filmworks announced that it has acquired the comedy series, “Love Lab”, for release in North America.

Based on the four-panel manga series written and illustrated by Ruri Miyahara, “Love Lab” is a junior high school comedy series, featuring animation production from Dogakobo (Natsutyuki Rendezvous). The anime is directed by Masahiko Ohta (Minami-ke), with series composition by Takashi Aoshima (Yuruyuri - Happy go Lily) and music from Yasuhiro Misawa (Kokoro Connect). The series made its debut in Japan last year.

Taking place at the Fujisaki Girls Academy, “Love Lab” follows Riko Kurahashi, who after witnessing her school’s most respected girl in a compromising situation tells a small lie that finds Riko drafted as the student council president’s love advisor. Now Riko is tasked with helping Natsuo learn more about the opposite sex through hypothetical situations in the Love Lab. Because Riko’s knowledge of boys is actually a lie though, Riko struggles to help her new friend, and as more girls join in on the action, she finds it harder and harder to tell the truth, fearing she could lose the friendships she now cherishes.

“Love Lab” will be available soon through select digital outlets and Sentai Filmworks has plans for a home video release. No details about the home release have been given at this time.
