What does a corporate management consultant do? Acquisitions and mergers, buyouts and bonuses, fast deals, luxury and strippers, divorces and desperate housewives--all in the HOU$E OF LIE$. Don Cheadle's role as Marty in the adult dra-medy series won him a Golden Globe Award for Best Comedy Actor.
Marty “The Con Man” Kaan (Don Cheadle), leads the “pod” and is full of… diversions; Jeannie (Kristen Bell) is a 'business psych' major who sees through the boys and bust the balls of corporate heads; and there’s Doug and Clyde (Josh Lawson, Ben Schwartz), the shy-guy and crass-ass of the crew--but they know their stuff. Can’t help but laugh at the brotherly ridicule and get-laid-challenges between the two.
Season one left us wondering about the character's past, while the season two premiere has us wondering what's to come of their present jobs. Under new leadership and heading to Vegas, Marty and Jeannie can't seem to figure out whether they're safe or on their way out--or whether or not they're sleeping together. Competition, at one time, made Doug and Clyde cool as friends; but comparisons at the job has a reverse effect on their friendship.
Marty is working to avoid possible layoff, while coping with hurt feelings from his cross-dressing son Roscoe--who decided to stay with the former pill-popping, mother and ex-wife Monica (Dawn Olivieri). ‘Love Jones’ stars Larenz Tate and Nia Long are stepping in for season two. Tate will be Marty’s younger brother and Long is a former classmate and “frienemy”. Wonder how that’s going to work….
