Valentine's Day is everyday. Yes, I know we just finished celebrating the day on February 14th. However showing your love to the people you love and to your neighbors that live around you or live in a distant land is what Christ requires His true believers in Him to share not just on one special day of the year. For the Bible says, "God is love".
I'm a single gal whose beautiful friends, a couple at my church, invited me to share in their yearly tradition celebrating Valentine's Day by making heart shaped waffles and a table full of strawberries, maple syrup, whipped cream, and all other types of goodies including pink rice crispies. There were only women including the couples two daughters, who have been blessed to see love demonstrated by their parents. They are learning how to love each other and how to love others with the love that their parents so generously give and pour out to all they meet.
The host husband assured that his beautiful wife, daughters and guests had a beautiful decorated table of love; at least that's what I call it because so much effort was put in making the table and the event so beautiful. What a generous display of how much God really loves me. I lacked nothing on this special day when lovers usually meet. The real lover of my soul, Jesus Christ who died on the cross for me to save me from my sins and to give me eternal life did not miss what some may consider a very small matter. There is no matter of the heart I have learned that my Heavenly Father misses. So many times, my God, who is my Heavenly Father has given me my smallest desires - He really cares about me. I have to remember that on my "blue days". God Almighty really sees all, He knows all, He loves all so much that He gave His very best gift of love, His only begotten Son who is Jesus Christ The Lord. Jesus loved His Father and His creation so much, He willingly laid down His life, submitted to wicked men and obeyed His Father, God to die on a cross, taking the whole part of all our sins upon Himself. Indeed, "no greater love than a man has than this, but to lay down His life for His friends." Jesus said, "we are His friends if we keep His commands" (See John 15:13-14).
Oh, how great a love the Father has shown to us! How can I or you friend, deny so great a love from your Creator? Will you give your heart to the God who loves you more than anyone will ever love you? I pray you do. Jesus the Son of God wants to be your friend. I'm so glad my friends laid down their time for me on Valentines Day to give me a Valentine's Day celebration to remember. Love, God's everlasting love is.... The final answer.
