Love is a many splendored thing

The full moon on January 26, falls at 7 degrees of Leo, at 11:38 p.m. EST. Leo is the ruler of the fifth house of children and love affairs, and its planetary ruler is the Sun, considered the vital life force. The fifth house also rules creativity of all kinds. Music, art and drama are all the realm of the fifth house, but so are creative ideas that can propel your life in new directions, whatever your love or avocation. Love takes many forms!

This full moon will trine Uranus at 5 degrees of Aries and sextile Jupiter at 6 degrees of Gemini just as it turns direct on January 30 after a 4 month retrograde period. Ideas and situations that have been long delayed will start to move forward again, and this configuration can bring new ideas, opportunities, and in some cases if it is aspecting your chart in the right way, romance. So harness this energy if you chose and propel yourself in new and exciting directions.

But, your ideas and dreams may be met with challenges of a more concrete nature as the full moon also squares Saturn. Saturn is the planet of structure, restriction and delays. When dealing with Saturn we must fight to achieve our goals and prove to ourselves and sometimes the world that our goal is worthy of our time and attention. Saturn doesn’t give us anything for free, and insures that we work to achieve. In love, Saturn shows us challenges of a very concrete nature that must be overcome. If we overcome the obstacle, our goal will become more concrete. If not, then the goal (person, situation or accomplishment) was not within our reach or worthy of continued time and attention.

Saturn entered Scorpio October of 2012 for a two year stay. Wherever Saturn is in a chart, we will meet our greatest challenges. Scorpio is the natural ruler of the 8th house of sex, others money, and change and transformation. It is an intense emotional sign, and it is a fixed sign, meaning energy does not move quickly, and we can remain stuck in a rut if we go not look at the big picture, and alternative ways of thinking. Jupiter in Gemini however, will give us impetus to do just that, especially as it moves forward on January 30!
