Hungry Howie's nationwide pizza franchise presents its fifth Love, Hope and Pizza campaign for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Throughout October, Hungry Howie's pizzas will be served in a light pink pizza box topped with the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBFC) logo at all franchise locations.
Over the past four years, Hungry Howie's has raised over $800,000 for the NBFC. This year they hope to raise that total to $1,000,000. To that end throughout the month of October they will make a donation for every pizza sold, every new Facebook fan and every photo tagged #LOVEHOPEPIZZA.
In addition to this, they are making a donation for each breast cancer-related story shared on their Facebook page. These stories may be about yourself or someone you know, a story of survival, a story of a current fight, or any other way breast cancer has touched someone's life. Stories can be shared directly on the Hungry Howie Facebook page or emailed to share@ lovehopepizza.org.
Hungry Howie's is also raising donations by selling “Love, Hope, Pizza” T-shirts and rubber bracelets online and in all their restaurants. The T-shirts are $15.99, the bracelets are $1, and all proceeds go to the cause.
Those who wish to simply donate money can also do that through a link on the Hungry Howie's website.
According to Rob Elliott, V.P. Of Strategic Marketing for Hungry Howies, “With the wonderful positive feedback and responses to the last four years, “Love, Hope, & Pizza” has becomes an integral part of out brand, and we are proud to partner with the National Breast Cancer Research Foundation for this truly important cause. We hope our participation can resonate with even more touching and positive stories within our communities, and truly believe that we can change the lives of many people by adding flavor to the fight.”
Hungry Howie's Pizza is a national pizza franchise founded in 1973. One of their best features is their original Flavored Crust. The crust comes in eight flavors including Cajun, onion, butter cheese, butter, ranch, garlic herb, sesame and original. Since its original start in Taylor, Michigan, it has grown to nearly 600 locations in 20 states.
Participating Hungry Howie's “Love, Hope, Pizza campaign is a great way for families to enjoy a meal out together and donate to a good cause at the same time. The Hungry Howie's website has a location finder so you can find the restaurant nearest you. If there is none near you, you can still make a donation to the cause on the website or by purchasing the T-shirt and/or bracelet.
Breast cancer is a family issue. Every breast cancer patient is someone's daughter, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, or friend. Every case of cancer affects at least one family somewhere. You can do something about that just by buying a pizza.
