‘Love & Hip Hop’s’ Benzino changes name to Zino Grigio, apologizes to Eminem

Benzino, one of the stars of VH1’s “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta,” has decided to make some positive changes in his life, including transforming his name and apologizing to old rival, Eminem, according to a Feb. 22, 2013 Global Grind report.

On the reality show “L&HHA,” Benzino bared his soul, opened his heart up to love, and showed the world his softer side. He told Global Grind that he has done things in his past he is not proud of, so he wants to embrace a “new me, a new vibe, a new attitude.”

The name change, he said, evolved out of people shortening Benzino to “Zino,” so the new moniker, Zino Grigio, is “not too different.”

According to the website, over the past year, the music mogul has apologized to Eminem. He said that instead of lashing out at people when he feels slighted, now he just ignores negative vibes.

Zino also spoke about an old beef with rapper Joe Budden, one of the stars of the “L&HH” series set in New York City. He said, “That was just me being the old Benzino, just reacting as soon as you see something…”

He said having three children has “mellowed” him out and noted, “There really isn’t too much gangsta stuff in me anymore.”
