Love & Hip Hop 2: Yandy claims Kimbella, Erica fights set up by producers ?

Love and Hip Hop star Yandy Smith says producers behind the hit show have set up fights seen during the season, including the recent and controversial altercation between Erica Mena and Kimbella. Speaking out Friday, Smith says "we are put in social interactions for entertainment purposes".

"These ladies and I are not really friends, but we are put in social interactions for entertainment purposes.  And sometimes, things happen," Smith told theYBF before admitting a "good fight" can increase viewership. "The producers like to get a reaction because a good fight can lead to 3 million viewers."

As widely seen earlier this week, Smith brought model/singer Erica Mena to a lunch date with Kimbella only for the two of them to start fighting, throwing glasses and later hits. According to Yandy however, it was not her choice to bring Mena in, producers made the call.

"They tell you who to bring and it's very set up. If I come to an event with someone, it's because that’s who they told me to bring.  The night before the fight, I had just met Erica," said Smith. "...We never know exactly what we are walking into, and when I watched it on tv, I felt like it was a set up."

As previously reported, Mena claimed she wanted VH1 to remove the fight scene from the show because of potential career related ramifications, however producers went ahead an aired it. (see: Love & Hip Hop 2 producer reacts over Erica, plus Mena teases music single).

Love & Hip Hop, in its second season, airs Monday nights on VH1.
