Love and the Nightingales at Little Colonel

See also

A family visit is a lot more than what it seems for The Nightingales, a Little Colonel show that will continue this weekend.

The Nightingales will take place on Dec. 12, 13, and 14 at 8 p.m. each night. A matinee show will happen on Dec. 15 at 2:30 p.m. All performances will go on at Little Colonel Playhouse, located at 302 Mount Mercy Drive in Pewee Valley, KY.

Tickets for each show are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors 60 and over, and $12 for students. Due to limited seating, reservations are highly recommended and can be made by calling 502-588-1557. Tickets can also be purchased at the door. Keep in mind Little Colonel Playhouse does not accept credit cards.

The Nighingales are a theatrical family. Jack is a cabaret star who performs with Maggie, a lady who constantly speaks of her romantic failures. Jack's parents, Charlie and Beatrice, old Music Hall Stars, make a family visit.

For Beatrice, however, this is more than a family visit. It's a ploy to escape to France to meet her liaison. Will anyone ever be happy in love?

Rick Reinle directed The Nightingales, which Peter Quilter created.

More information on the show can be found at the Little Colonel Playhouse website.
