On Monday, May 5, VH1’s “Love and Hip Hop Atlanta” will return to television with its season 3 premiere. And while fans couldn’t be more excited to see the return of show favorites like Stevie J and Joseline, it’s Mimi Faust who will be the hot topic of conversation on Tuesday morning.
For anyone living under a rock, Mimi confesses to one of her best friends, Ariane, as well as fellow cast member Erica, that she and Nikko made a sex tape.
The women, as expected, are shocked.
Mimi’s confession isn’t simply shocking in and of itself, it’s her seeming hypocrisy in the situation that appears the most dirty.
Throughout season 1 and 2 of “Love and Hip Hop Atlanta,” Mimi has been the woman who always tried to demean Stevie J for his nasty behavior. She didn’t like how he acted when they were in a relationship, and she didn’t appreciate his behavior and attitude when they were out of a relationship.
But one of Mimi’s biggest sticking points with Stevie J was his inability to be a quality role model to their young daughter. Mimi never insinuated that Stevie J didn’t take care of his fatherly responsibilities, but she did often try and help him understand that cheating on women while in a relationship doesn’t provide a good example to a young daughter who looks up to him.
Now, on the premiere of “Love and Hip Hop Atlanta,” Mimi has admitted to starring in a sex tape, a tape that has hit the Internet and has quite possibly been watched by a large majority of the viewers who will tune in tonight at 8 pm eastern.
As expected, there will be extreme backlash towards Mimi from both her co-stars and her fans. On the show, one cast member suggests Mimi is now a porn star for creating the tape, and fans have been far less kind in their takedown of the reality show star.
It was reported by TMZ that Mimi and Nikko not only made the sex tape, but that once Vivid got a hold of the tape, they contacted Mimi and Nikko so that the reality stars could sign off on it being released to the public.
The article also alleges that the “Love and Hip Hop Atlanta” producers gave “their blessing” in regards to releasing the tape.
How will it all play out long term? We’ll have to tune in to find out, as “Love and Hip Hop Atlanta” season 3 premieres tonight on VH1.
