Fans of the hit VH1 reality show were introduced to several new characters during the season 4 premiere of Love and Hip Hop on Monday night. Amongst them is K.Michelle a favorite from the Love and Hip Hop Atlanta franchise. With her fiery personality she is sure to add some spice to the mostly new cast of LHH. Even without the admittedly entertaining K.Michele, LHH is already on burning up. Not with the good kind of heat either. The bad kind, as in a burning sensation in your crotch.
As if last seasons messy love triangle with Erica Mena and Rich Dollaz wasn't outrageous enough, this season newcomers Peter Gunz, an old school rapper, his longtime love and baby mamma Tara and Amina the artist he's trying to represent have highjacked the crazy train.
Like the brilliant Stevie J. before him, Peter Gunz has decided it is a bright idea to air his dirty laundry on national TV. In one scene Gunz wakes up in Amina's bed. This is after he told his woman Tara that he was not involved with Amina. Sound familiar? This is exactly what happened to Stevie J. on LHH Atlanta.
The LHH universe is populated by these lust addled fools who think nothing of humiliating themselves and their families with this none sense. Call me a cynic, but I think Gunz is following the Stevie J. formula to a T. Maybe like Stevie he is a narcissistic maniac, or maybe it's all calculated, i.e., fake.
How many of these "ho on the side" revelations can one show muster? Doesn't anyone at least try to be rational and hide the side chick from the cameras and the world? To lie to your partner's face about and affair that you also allowed the LHH cameras to film, seems not only stupid but desperate.
Of course Tara is going to find out. Of course someone is going to get punched in the face. Of course they'll all be back to do it all over again next season. The show is in danger of becoming nothing more than a caricature of itself.
I hate to admit it but I miss Chrissy and Jim Jones and even Olivia who was always the most boring cast member. At least there was a sense that those women were real, you could root for them. Other than K. Michele and maybe Yandy there's no one worth caring about this season.
