Worldwide ,Earth - Normally I put a city and location but in this case , this event is worldwide . I received a special treat in my mailbox today and even thou I was expecting it I was still surprised I got it this fast . You ask yourself what am I talking about ? Well readers the new album from Brian “ Head “ Welch formerly of Korn fame with his new band , Love and Death . The debut album is titled Between Here and Lost and this one doesn’t disappoint . From the first notes of “ The Abandoning “ you immediately understand why Korn sold so many records .The musicianship and songwriting is top notch . The rest of the band consists of Michael Valentine on bass , Dan Johnson on drums and J.R Bareis on additional lead guitar with Head taking the lead guitar and vocals duties . The next track is a re-imagining of the Devo song “ Whip It “ but you would not even recognize it but I can tell you its pretty interesting . “ Watching The Bottom Fall “ is the next track with the great lyrics “ Will we learn again, will it hurt forever .” This song really kicks . Up next is the “ By The Way “ which is about losing someone close to you . The follow up track is “ Meltdown “ an aggressive song by nature but with slow and soft parts intermixed within the pains of the song . The questioning of ones God comes through in “ My Disaster “ at least that’s what I get from the song . The
quality mixing and engineering that went into this disk shows the amazing product one can get from talented musicians and creative sound engineers . “ I W8 4U “ is easily the most angry song on the album with guest vocals supplied by Mattie Montgomery . On the flip side the song “ Fading Away “ sounds like its ready for instant radio chart status . Sometime last year the world got a sneak preview of “ Paralyzed “ on various websites and I am very happy to find it included on this disk. This song bleeds every emotion one can feel . “ Chemicals “ is the truth behind drugs and the lies they sell . Losing friends and ones own self . The beautifully intricate introduction in “ Bruises “ shows that a true artist is multifaceted and cannot be pigeonholed into a certain style or genre . I can honestly say this is one of best new albums of 2013 and if you want to experience the emotional roller-coaster of musical genius pick this album up .
