Beloved As I woke up this morning I found myself in the presence of the Spirit of the Living God and He began to speak to me, at first it was as if I had walked into a room where others were talking and was interjected into the conversations not quite sure what the topic was. But as I listened I realize that the holy spirit outside of me was speaking to the deposit of the holy spirit that dwells inside of me about this season in the Kingdom.
As I listened I realized that I was being given instructions about the direction I should go and the things I will need to carry with me to make it to my destination. In that conversation of all the things that I heard the most dominate of all of them was the need for true love. As the holy spirit continued to speak I was amazed at how different love is from a Spiritual point of view and how important it is that we understand it and stop rejecting it because love is the glue that holds the kingdom together. From the inception of the Church it is clear from the most basic teaching that the purpose of the Church and the expression of the identity of the Church was love, love was the indentifying marker of those who considered themselves followers of Christ and was the basis of everything action and every reaction they took, it was how they saw and identified God and His activities and it was how God introduced Himself to them and explained His actions.
Love is the reason for our creation by God and the motivation for the union that allows us to continue to exist. More than faith, power, sex, ambition, or need love is the one things the allows the human race to continue and the only thing that will cause the Kingdom of God to come to and reign on the earth. From God’s point of view everything that is not done in love is SIN. For that matter if it is not done in love spiritually speaking it is not real and does not really exist.
As I listened to the Spirit of God I realized that in this season we are being called back to love!!! But not love as we know it, or have seen it, not what we have offered as love, but love. In the Church we speak of the different types of love a conversation which is based on the premise that since there are multiple Greek words that translate into the English word love each one of them has a different meaning however I am not sure that those words identify different types of love but rather different expressions of love and more to the point I do not think that the actions or the concept we describe when we use them is an accurate reflection of what God intends. In point of fact if we could just get to love, we would see the Kingdom of God advance beyond our dreams right into God’s true intentions. But to do that we have to change our intentions from receiving to giving, from exchanging to surrendering, from being blessed to being a blessing, in short we would have to learn to act like God.. As I reflect on the word of God that has been revealed and lived by men through out time I am amazed that at the darkest points in history of God’s people when they had abandoned God, God came to them not to judge them, not to impose a standard or a qualification, or even to given them an explanation of how they arrived at the place of bondage, He came and promised them help. They did not deserve it, could not pay for it, would never repay Him for it and would not even change their ways, but God in am expression of love, that I believe that was designed in part to teach them and us how to respond to love they would lead gave them what they needed and desired most. Simply because He loved them, I realize that there are some theologian who are pulling their hair out right not, some because this view does not support their continued expression of neo-legalism but this is simply here to express God’s love.
Just imagine if the Body of Christ could become honest enough to acknowledge that there is no one on the earth who deserves God’s blessing or God’s prosperity and therefore no one has earned it, or is entitled to it. That every blessing that anyone has ever received was given to them for one and only one reason, God loves them. Can you imagine how many people that would set free, how many we could draw, heal, deliver and empower. Imagine if we built God’s Kingdom based on God’s love.
