Jeanne Flowers, the principal of St. Albert the Great School, has been selected as the 2009 Distinguised Principal from Region 5 by the National Catholic Education Association. She will receive this prestigeous award in April when the annual NCEA convention takes place in Minneapolis.
Ms. Flowers was selected from over 6,000 Catholic school principals nominated from several southern states. This award demonstrates the powerful impact her service has had on children and families during her 49 years in Catholic education. She has been St. Albert's principal for 12 years and is known there for her service, leadership, and compassion. Active outside of St. Albert as well, she is a member of the Mary Byron Project and has been involved in educating young women about the dangers of domestic and dating violence. She is also involved in her parish community at Holy Family Church.
