According to an article published by WDRB News on September 12, a football coach bravely climbed down into a massive hole in Louisville, Kentucky to comfort a 2-year-old little girl who fell into the hole around 7:45 p.m. on Thursday.
WDRB News reports that the child was running across a football practice field in Russell Lee Park in Louisville, Kentucky when she fell in. Reports indicate that a local football coach ignored any risks to himself when he eased himself down into the hole to comfort the little girl until help could arrive.
Local firefighters worked to free the pair from the hole, and once they were freed they were taken to local hospitals to be evaluated. Their condition is unknown at this time.
Officials say the hole is around 18 feet deep. Witnesses report that the hole's location was marked by at least one orange traffic cone, and appeared to be some sort of a drainage hole.
