According to Louisiana authorities, Jones – who is 31 years old – has already been issued a summons on the charge of animal cruelty.
The Jeanerette City Marshal’s Office states that the Jones’ horse was discovered in the neighbor’s yard after it somehow managed to get itself loose from his owner’s [Jones] location. It appeared the horse had been tightly tied up and, when found, it still had the rope tied around its left hind leg. In the process of fighting to get free and/or regain its footing, the horse severed its rear hoof. It is surmised that the Jones horse was attempting to free itself from the entangled rope.
The Jones’ horse had to be euthanized as a result of its severe injuries.
