SCHENECTADY, NY -- The first thing that jumps out at you on the Cajun Catering website is the headline
Cafe NOLA Coming Soon!!
617 Union Street
OK, maybe the alligator (right) drawing catches the eye first, but the announcement is a very close second.
Kevin and Robin Brown will be opening their restaurant on the city's trendy Upper Union Street later this month, specializing in Louisiana cuisine as their catering service now does.
Cajun Catering has been active in the community at a variety of festivals and competitions. In addition, Chef Kevin, who holds a culinary degree from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI, also has taught cooking classes on the area.
Cafe NOLA -- an acronym for New Orleans -- will seat 56 inside and 16 on the patio. The Browns are leasing space in the building that recently was renovated with the aid of a grant from Schenectady’s Metroplex development authority.
Prior to opening his own catering service, Chef Kevin worked in a variety of venues, including the old Stone Ends in Glenmont and the Albany Marriott.

617 Union St. is in no way "on the city's trendy Upper Union Street". Have you looked at a map recently?
